After viewing many parcels of land we have now signed a 49 year concessionary lease on a 50 acre flat greenfield site at Ngabo, just north of Wobulenzi, left hand turn off the newly upgraded Bombo road, to construct, market and operate a open-plan 50 acre Cultural Heritage Village.
The land is 35 miles north of Kampala; approximately 75 minutes drive, in the County of Bulemezi, District East Buganda. The priority for us was to keep the land in Ugandan ownership and make it a joint-venture.
Uganda as an abundance of culture and this project will nurture the culture to benefit all cultures and generate the local community.
This is a positive project for the people of Uganda, creating employment, educational, bringing into Uganda cultural tourism visitors, and an inflow of foreign currency.
We will develop the 50 acre site as near authentic as possible creating an open-plan Cultural Heritage Village, with most of the main Ugandan Kingdoms participating in this project. This Cultural Heritage Village Project without any financial commitment from the Kingdoms will become one of the world’s truly cultural experiences. We will work closely with all Kingdoms and Cultures to advise us on their particular culture and building methods.
There will be about 60 to 80 traditional homesteads with bio flush toilets, shower, and bedroom for visitors to experience living in an African Village subject to architects first drawings.
A minimum two-night all inclusive package will apply, which includes separate Kingdoms staffing, all inclusive concept, food, beverages, and the rich culture. We are now in the planning and project cost stage, we anticipate the first phase should be ready approximately October 2009. The two night package price would also include state of the art wireless mesh accommodation for two adults and up to two children sharing.
Each participating Kingdom will have a Master Traditional Building promoting their particular culture, selling quality handicrafts and acting as an A-Z showcase promoting their area of Uganda.
Many different staff will be employed providing an immense culture which will intermingle around the Village.
Their will be a main amphitheatre for typical shows each evening.
The participating Kingdoms will benefit through a donation based on revenue generated in their Village.
The local community of Ngabo/Lukomera area will also benefit from this project byway of donations for school, clinic improvements, and other projects. Both donations will be monitored and the cultural visitors will be very happy to know before making a booking a percentage of their payment will be donated.
